Hallmark October 2026 Movies: Countdown to Christmas Begins

Hallmark is asking viewers to make room for both pumpkins and Christmas trees this October. Two final Fall Into Love premieres bring a time-traveling knight and a Halloween ghost story to the screen before Countdown to Christmas begins on October 16. Eight new holiday movies follow before the month is over, while Hallmark+ adds familiar favorites and a returning mystery series. Here’s what to watch, and why this unusually crowded October lineup could make it hard to choose between spooky season and snowflakes.

Fall Into Love Gets Two More Chances to Surprise Us

Hallmark isn’t rushing past autumn entirely. Its final two Fall Into Love movies premiere on October 3 and October 10, both at 8 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. CT. Neither sounds like a standard small-town romance.

One brings a medieval knight to modern-day Chicago. The other takes the spirit-guided structure of a holiday classic and gives it a Halloween makeover.

October 3: A Kiss Brings a Knight Back to Life

Julie Gonzalo plays Emily Porter, a Chicago museum conservator restoring a centuries-old statue of Sir Griffin de Beauford. One unexpected kiss brings the knight, played by James Trevena, back to life. Griffin has plenty to learn about the present day, from pumpkin spice lattes to a Halloween Medieval Fayre. But Emily has a more urgent problem: her ex-husband is leading an FBI investigation.

A rare celestial conjunction also puts Griffin’s fate in question. For Emily, protecting her heart may be easier than deciding whether she’s willing to risk it for someone from another century.

October 10: Three Spirits Take on Halloween Heartbreak

Meghan Ory stars as Everly Stone, a bridal designer who has avoided Halloween since a fire station party ended in public heartbreak. When her late mentor appears with a warning, three mischievous spirits guide Everly through a night of revelations. She must reckon with the joy she’s lost, the people she pushes away and the future she might miss.

Kevin McGarry plays Beau Madison, a longtime friend with a lingering spark from their past. With its A Christmas Carol twist, the story makes a fitting handoff from Hallmark’s fall romances to its Christmas marathon.

Countdown to Christmas Starts October 16

Hallmark’s 2026 Countdown to Christmas season includes 34 new movies, with eight arriving in October. The holiday premieres begin October 16 and continue through Halloween night. Each airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Hallmark Channel.

This first batch has plenty of familiar ingredients, but the stories range from football fandom and a revived Christmas market to an alternate life and a Santa lookalike. Here’s the October lineup in the order presented.

A Ski Resort Romance and a Chicago Bears Love Story

The opening movie stars Amanda Schull as Lexi, a meticulous single mom and party planner hired to organize a ski resort’s annual holiday celebration. She arrives with her free-spirited mother June, played by Barbara Niven, and teenage daughter Piper, played by Verity Marks. Lexi initially clashes with ski instructor Ridge, played by Victor Webster. But when they spot a spark between June and Ridge’s father Dan, played by John B. Lowe, their matchmaking efforts keep turning into outings for four.

Next, Lyndsy Fonseca plays Avery Clark, a freelance reporter visiting her mother and new stepfather in Chicago. A story assignment brings her to Darlene Donnelly, a beloved Bears superfan played by Marsha Mason who’s about to attend her 500th game. Avery barely knows football, so Darlene’s grandson Matt, a firefighter and devoted Bears fan played by Robert Buckley, offers to teach her. It’s the latest entry in Hallmark’s Holiday Touchdown series, which began with A Chiefs Love Story in 2024.

A Christmas Market and One Last Season at the Bowling Alley

Brendan Penny plays Taylor Lewis, a single father who moves his two children to Pineway shortly before Christmas. He’s tasked with reviving the town’s Christmas Market and partners with Sophie Shaw, a practical accountant played by Pascale Hutton who hopes to prove she’s ready for a leadership role. When Taylor’s attempt to lift his teenage daughter’s holiday spirits backfires, he learns that Christmas cheer can’t be forced. Fans of When Calls the Heart will recognize the lead pairing.

In another hometown story, Ashley Newbrough plays Audrey Bell, a traveling pop-up restaurateur who returns for Thanksgiving and learns her late grandfather’s bowling alley is being sold. She stays to revive its Winter Wonderlanes youth tournament for one final holiday season. Local reporter Jason Miller, played by Franco Lo Presti, helps spread the word. He also happens to be her high school boyfriend. The tournament gives Audrey a reason to ask whether she’s ready to stop leaving home.

A Forgotten Romance and a Life That Could Have Been

Janel Parrish’s Kathryn Liu panics when her boyfriend Rob Ashford, played by Daniel Lissing, proposes before Christmas. After Rob has a car accident, he loses his memories of the past year, including Kathryn and his newfound love of Christmas. On his doctor’s advice, Kathryn helps him retrace their relationship. Recovering those memories could bring them back together, but only if she can face what frightened her in the first place.

Lori Loughlin and Tom Cavanagh play Erin and Adam, a married New York couple at a crossroads. Erin has long organized charity galas at the hospital where Adam works as a heart surgeon, but his move to a new hospital leaves her role behind. Regrets about giving up fashion design resurface, and a heart-shaped Christmas ornament transports her into an alternate life as a world-famous designer. It’s everything she once wanted, except for the company she misses.

An Empty Dinner Table and a Possible Santa Sighting

Rhiannon Fish plays Julie, a newcomer preparing to host Christmas Eve dinner at a table inherited from her late grandmother. She has room for eight but no guest list. Her neighbor Mark, played by Jake Foy, suggests his family join her, including his young daughter Vanessa. Then bad weather disrupts their travel plans, leaving Julie to hope a few small miracles can fill the empty seats.

Hallmark closes October with Amy Groening as Maren, a single mother raising her adopted daughter Leah while running her late father’s hardware store. Leah misses having a grandfather and joins a program at Jolly Acres retirement community, where she’s paired with Kris, a resident who looks remarkably like Santa Claus. Michael Rady plays Reid, the community’s traveling launch director, whose path soon crosses Maren’s. The movie arrives on Halloween night, just in case anyone needs a reminder of which holiday has Hallmark’s attention now.

Hallmark+ Has Something for Mystery and Good Witch Fans, Too

The October lineup goes beyond Hallmark Channel’s movie premieres. Hallmark+ is adding more of the original The Good Witch films and welcoming back a detective duo whose lives have changed dramatically.

There’s a different kind of seasonal viewing here: a chance to revisit the movies that launched a beloved franchise, followed by a new chapter for two familiar private investigators.

The Original Good Witch Movies Are Joining the Library

Hallmark+ has been gradually adding the original The Good Witch movies starring Catherine Bell and Chris Potter. The collection will be available to enjoy in October. Those films came before the later series starring Bell and James Denton, making them a tempting starting point for anyone ready to revisit the franchise from the beginning.

Private Eyes Heads West on October 6

Private Eyes West Coast comes to Hallmark+ on October 6, after its CW airing. Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson return as Shade and Angie, now married and living in Victoria, British Columbia. Five years have passed since they closed their Toronto detective agency, and they have a young son, Declan.

Shade has published a well-received hockey memoir, while Angie may still find ways to put her investigative instincts to work. Can parenthood really keep these two away from a mystery?
