Hallmark Channel’s Leading Ladies Ranked by Movie Count

Hallmark has made an art of the cozy movie, but its familiar leading ladies are a big reason viewers keep coming back. Some have spent years falling in love beneath twinkling lights; others have solved enough fictional murders to make a detective nervous. From rising favorites to a star with 45 Hallmark movies to her name, these actors have built careers that reach far beyond a single Christmas romance. Here are the women whose Hallmark résumés stand out, and the roles that made them indispensable to the network.

The familiar faces who became Hallmark favorites

Not every Hallmark mainstay arrived as an established television star. For several of these actors, one supporting part or romantic lead opened the door to years of festive films, mysteries, and returning viewers.

Brittany Bristow, Pascale Hutton, and Ashley Newbrough

Brittany Bristow joined the Hallmark world with a supporting role in 2017’s Love Blossoms. She went on to appear in Christmas at the Palace, Holiday Date, and A Tail of Love, then added writing to her résumé by helping pen 2024’s Love on the Right Course. It’s an impressive way to turn an early opportunity into a lasting place at the network.

Pascale Hutton is especially familiar to Hallmark fans thanks to her role as Rosemary Coulter on When Calls the Heart. Her movie career with the network began with A Family Thanksgiving in 2010 and has reached 16 films, including The Perfect Bride and entries in the Nelly Knows Mysteries series.

Ashley Newbrough made her Hallmark movie debut in 2015’s Love Under the Stars. Since then, she has appeared in titles including A Merry Christmas Match and Love on the Right Course. Her career began much earlier, with childhood commercials and television work on The Zack Files and Privileged.

Danica McKellar, Jessy Schram, and Taylor Cole

For viewers who grew up watching The Wonder Years, Danica McKellar needed no introduction. She began her Hallmark run with 2015’s Perfect Match and appeared in 16 Hallmark movies, including Crown for Christmas and the Matchmaker Mysteries. In 2021, she left for Great American Family, citing loyalty to former Hallmark executive Bill Abbott.

Jessy Schram has one of the more unusual starting points on this list. Between 2005 and 2008, she played Susan Davis in nine Jane Doe mystery films. She later took roles in movies such as Harvest Moon and Road to Christmas, while also making time for major television work on Chicago Med.

Taylor Cole made her Hallmark debut in 2016’s Appetite for Love and became a regular in romances and seasonal movies. Her credits include One Winter Proposal and Pumpkin Everything, but mystery fans may know her best as the title character in the Ruby Herring Mysteries.

Romance stars with impressive range

The next group shows just how much variety fits under the Hallmark umbrella. Alongside Christmas stories and romantic comedies, their credits include long-running mysteries, ensemble films, and projects they helped create behind the scenes.

Ashley Williams, Autumn Reeser, and Lori Loughlin

Ashley Williams made her Hallmark film debut in 2015’s October Kiss. She has since starred in movies including Notes of Autumn and To Barcelona, With Love. She also teamed up with her sister, fellow actor Kimberly Williams-Paisley, for the two Sister Swap holiday films, bringing their family collaboration to the screen and behind the scenes.

Autumn Reeser began her Hallmark career with 2012’s Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Her work ranges from A Bramble House Christmas to the six-film Wedding Veil series, where she starred alongside Alison Sweeney and Lacey Chabert. In 2026, Reeser marked her 14-year Hallmark anniversary and said the partnership had brought her 22 movies.

Lori Loughlin built a franchise almost all her own as Jennifer Shannon, appearing in 17 Garage Sale Mystery films. Her Hallmark career also includes When Calls the Heart. After a years-long break following the 2019 college admissions scandal, she returned to the mystery role in 2026’s Garage Sale Mysteries: Murder Takes the Stage.

Nikki DeLoach, Kellie Martin, and Kimberley Sustad

Nikki DeLoach joined Hallmark with 2015’s Christmas Land and found another signature role as caterer and amateur sleuth Goldy Berry in the Curious Caterer series. Her holiday work also includes Reunited at Christmas and 2025’s A Grand Ole Opry Christmas.

Kellie Martin has been solving Hallmark crimes for more than two decades. Starting in 2003, she played Samantha Kinsey in 11 Mystery Woman films, then took on another investigator in the Hailey Dean Mysteries. She has balanced those whodunits with lighter fare, including Christmas in Montana.

Kimberley Sustad made her Hallmark debut in 2012’s A Bride for Christmas and became a leading lady with The Nine Lives of Christmas. She has also helped write network favorites, including Christmas by Starlight, Three Wise Men and a Baby, and its sequels. For Sustad, being a Hallmark regular means helping shape the story as well as starring in it.

The Hallmark heavyweights

At the top end of this lineup, the numbers are hard to ignore. These stars have anchored multiple franchises or appeared in enough movies to become part of Hallmark’s identity, even when their careers later took them elsewhere.

Candace Cameron Bure and Alison Sweeney

Candace Cameron Bure starred in 30 Hallmark movies, beginning with 2008’s Moonlight and Mistletoe. Christmas films became a specialty, but her biggest recurring role was true-crime enthusiast Aurora Teagarden, whom she played in 18 mysteries. She left Hallmark for Great American Family in 2022, where she became chief content officer.

Alison Sweeney has built a Hallmark career full of characters viewers can revisit. She has played baker Hannah Swensen in the Murder, She Baked mysteries, Alex McPherson in the Chronicle Mysteries, and Tracy Goodwyn in The Wedding Veil films. In 2024, This Time Each Year marked her 30th Hallmark movie.

Barbara Niven and Lacey Chabert

With 38 films to her name, Barbara Niven is a Hallmark powerhouse, even if she doesn’t always get top billing. Her connection to Hallmark goes back to the 1986 Hall of Fame film Promise. More recently, she has appeared in the Murder, She Baked and Crossword Mysteries franchises, along with the series Cedar Cove and Chesapeake Shores.

Then there’s Lacey Chabert. Since her first Hallmark film, 2010’s Elevator Girl, the Mean Girls alum has appeared in an astonishing 45 Hallmark movies and counting. From Christmas Waltz to Winter in Vail and The Christmas Quest, she’s become one of the network’s most recognizable stars. If Hallmark has a queen, Chabert has a remarkably strong claim to the crown.
