Vizio WatchFree+ Announces Free Christmas Movie Starring Rachel Bilson

A Christmas movie starring Rachel Bilson and Scott Foley is coming this holiday season, and you won’t need another streaming subscription to watch it. Jingle Bells Wedding Bells is an original feature-length movie made for Vizio’s free, ad-supported WatchFree+ service. There’s one catch for anyone ready to circle a date on the calendar: as of October 7, 2026, Vizio had not announced a premiere day. Here’s what we know about the movie, where it will stream, and how it fits into an increasingly crowded holiday viewing season.

A Free Christmas Movie With Two Familiar Faces

Bilson and Foley headline Jingle Bells Wedding Bells, an original movie produced by ITV America Nashville and Happy Accidents. Vizio says it will premiere exclusively on WatchFree+ this holiday season, but hasn’t shared an exact date or time. GEICO is the presenting sponsor.

A new Christmas movie that costs nothing to stream is appealing. It also gives WatchFree+ more to offer than another channel to scroll past: a holiday premiere viewers can seek out when it arrives.

What We Know About the Premiere

For now, this holiday season is the most precise release window Vizio has provided. There’s no confirmed premiere night to plan around, or schedule for repeat showings. If you’ve seen a specific date elsewhere, it’s worth checking for a future announcement from Vizio before making movie-night plans.

Vizio hasn’t shared enough story details to explain how the wedding bells figure into the plot. The title sets a festive expectation, but the confirmed news is the cast, the movie’s WatchFree+ home, and its planned holiday-season arrival.

Where Can You Watch Jingle Bells Wedding Bells?

WatchFree+ is built into Vizio TVs and Walmart onn TVs that run Vizio OS. Vizio has also said the movie will stream on the web, though as of October 7, it hadn’t named a specific web player. The service is supported by ads, so there’s no subscription price.

If you already use a compatible TV, you may not need to download anything. Once Vizio announces the premiere, just find WatchFree+ in your TV’s menus.

How to Find WatchFree+ on Your TV

The steps depend on your remote and version of Vizio OS. Vizio’s support materials describe these options:

  • Press the WatchFree+ button if your remote has one.
  • Press Input and select WatchFree+ from the inputs list.
  • Choose the WatchFree+ app from the home screen’s Apps & Inputs row.
  • On newer screens, look for Live TV or Free Movies & TV in the left-hand menu.

There’s a wrinkle if you want to watch on your phone. The free VIZIO app can stream WatchFree+ live channels, but Vizio’s FAQ says on-demand titles can’t yet play in the app and require a linked TV. Since Jingle Bells Wedding Bells is a movie, not a live channel, a compatible TV or the promised web option is the safer plan.

Vizio’s account guidance is a little less clear than its pricing. Its WatchFree+ pages say a free customer account is required, while other language says no subscription or login is needed. The practical takeaway: the service is free, but your TV may ask you to sign in with a free VIZIO account.

Vizio Has More Than One Holiday Treat Planned

The Bilson and Foley movie isn’t Vizio’s only seasonal announcement. WatchFree+ is also adding Holiday Chocolate Workshop, a creator-led series following chocolatier Amaury Guichon and his team as they build large holiday showpieces. Vizio hadn’t announced a premiere date for that series either.

If you like your holiday programming with a side of elaborate edible engineering, this sounds like a very different kind of festive watch. The movie and series give WatchFree+ both a scripted holiday event and a behind-the-scenes creative spectacle.

And the Rest of WatchFree+ Is Growing

Vizio’s October 7 announcement went well beyond Christmas. The company said it was expanding its selection through deals with MGM, NBCUniversal, Disney, A&E and A24. Titles it named include The Good Doctor, Chicago Fire, Law & Order, Property Brothers and Little House on the Prairie.

Vizio also announced more than 40 free creator channels covering comedy, food, gaming, family programming, sports and travel. The names include MrBeast, Hot Ones, Ryan Trahan, Nick DiGiovanni and Uncle Roger. The company said WatchFree+ now offers more than 45,000 movies and shows and over 400 live and local channels, although its product pages still showed smaller figures on October 7.

How Does It Stack Up Against the Holiday Movie Giants?

One free original movie is welcome news, but it’s not the same as a full-season Christmas lineup. Hallmark Channel’s 2026 Countdown to Christmas is set to begin Friday, October 16, at 8 p.m. ET, with 34 new original movies premiering through December 20. Great American Family, meanwhile, announced 18 original Christmas movies, starting October 10.

WatchFree+ offers a simpler deal: watch its new film for free with ads when it arrives. If you want premieres throughout the season, traditional holiday channels have many more titles, though access depends on your TV package or streaming choices.

If You Watch Holiday Movies on DIRECTV

Jingle Bells Wedding Bells will not be on DIRECTV because it’s a WatchFree+ original. DIRECTV viewers looking for more holiday movies can find Hallmark Channel on channel 312 in the ENTERTAINMENT package and above, and Great American Family on channel 326 in CHOICE and above, according to the lineup cited by American TV.

Those choices aren’t mutually exclusive. A Vizio TV owner can open WatchFree+ for its free movie and still use a separate TV service or app for other holiday programming. For now, the only thing missing from the WatchFree+ movie-night plan is the date. Keep an eye on Vizio’s premiere announcement, then bring the cocoa.
